Production-wise, Evil Jim was going through its worst time. I somehow managed to pump out a regular three strips for Haloween week, because I really wanted to do this story idea. The book Betsy holds is indeed the Necronomicon from the Evil Dead trilogy. I know, it's been used all over the place, but I couldn't help myself.

The Least 100sec is a very difficult song, so my assigning it to Carolyn and Betsy was meant as a complete joke. Throwing in "blah"s instead of my usual, tired announcement made it even funnier. I hope.

Silent Hill is a Christmas song in DDR, but over the summer I had played the very violent and INCREDIBLY scary PSX game Silent Hill. So I took the DDR naming scheme for these strips. If you aren't familiar with Silent Hill, you might not get some of these comments. Also, the strips had to be called by two different titles, so I used the title for Silent Hill's remix song as well as the original. I'm a geek.

Inverting the colors on the artwork made things look...weirder than I expected. Which is a good thing.

Tom and Rob are Alex's housemates this year. I filmed a video at their house, so to repay them for the intrusion I put them in here doing what they do best: Kicking the sh*t out of things. That's a bumblebee on a string and a firecracker Tom's holding. Long story.

The Home Alone line was meant to tie into the Silent Hill song thing. Loosely.

Alex e-mailed me to complain about them blowing up the DDR pad and causing an unfair end to the tournament. More specifically, I think he was upset that I used him as the plot device to cop my way out of declaring a winner for the competition. In reality, I was tired of this story arc and had to end it. Apologies to everyone who held their suspense for a month and a half and received no payoff.
