UPDATES FROM AUGUST 2004-PRESENT
07-01-04
I added two pages of character design sketches from Evil Jim I did last summer.
You'll notice Evil Penguin in there. Yes, "End of Evil" was being planned
for a VERY long time in advance. Also, don't forget about FREE COMIC BOOK
DAY THIS SATURDAY! YAY!
06-28-04
Small site maintenance; Alison's bio is fixed. 727 main page is updated with
current information. UR Issues page has issue 12 synopsis, and now when you
click each cover, its picture shows up in a new window so that nasty frame
is out of your way. There will be no more updates to the Unfamiliar Reflection
section. :-(
06-19-04
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Free Comic Book Day Sampler is complete, and includes everything
I previously mentioned. Pages 1-3 of UR1, Evil Jim strips 001, 002, and
005, and the complete 8-page issue of Seven to Seven #8. I also managed
to churn out a very cryptic and apocalyptic promo for Hero of Silvera.
And the entire issue is narrated by Evil Jim and Pat 22, a-la Washu and Mihoshi's
narration of the letters colum in Viz's old No Need for Tenchi! monthlies.
Remember, this is the only place where you will find Seven to Seven #8 in printed form. There will be no other printing of it on its own. On a similar note, I'm afraid selling and interest of the series has forced me to cut back on the funding and attention a little bit. 727 will remain on an erratic schedule, indefinitely. I will place prospective completion dates in the Progress Report, but will not make any promise to get it done by then. Also, color covers (which were also in danger of being cut back when the first issue was being printed in December 2002) are gone. The issues will be in full black and white. I'm sorry for the depressing news, but it just goes to show that not everything over here at PC is in good shape.
Now for some good news! Although Evil Jim has been delayed another week, the final fourteen strips will be coming with almost no interruption. The new projected finish date is July 28, though that could change too. But rest assured, EJ will be done in time for the fourteenth anniversary of this wonderful company.
06-16-04
A small tidbit of info...Free Comic Book Day Sampler is going steady. I hope
to get it done by Friday. It features a couple pages from UR1 (remember that
old thing?) and all 8 pages of 727-8, which is brand new material. This is
the unofficial 8th issue to 727, meaning you'll never see these published
on their own in the future. I also hope to make a little one-page teaser
to New Series 32 ("Hero of Silvera") and I'll throw in a few Evil Jim strips
for good measure. Plus, the issue itself is presented by none other than
yours truly and Patrick Webster in our respective roles as Evil Jim and Pat
#22. Look for it July 3, 2004 at Spa City Comics in the Downstreet Marketplace
on Broadway in Saratoga Springs.
p.s. A new hidden page has been added to this site. Hee hee.
06-03-04
I'm afraid there's absolutely nothing new to report. Aside from the fact
that I'm considering, among other things, going through with a name change
for the company and putting some substantial content on this site.
05-17-04
Some of you might be checking this page for that Nick Real script. Since
our professor is gonna send all our scripts to us anyway, I figured there
wouldn't be any point putting it up here for everyone on the internet to
see.
04-30-04
Details are still sketchy right now, but I will tell you that I'm working
on the first annual Platinum Comics' Free Comic Book Day Sampler.
Preliminary plans are to have it contain the 8th issue of Seven to
Seven, as well as selected Evil Jim strips, material on
Unfamiliar Reflection, and a one-page teaser to Hero of Silvera,
in development for a 2005 release. The Sampler will be available FOR FREE
(duh) on July 3, 2004 at Spa City Comics in Broadway's Downstreet Marketplace
in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Furthermore, seeing as how 727 hasn't been selling well...at all...I've decided that after #8 is released, the final four hours will be released as monthly on-line comics. As it stands right now, if I were to publish them I'd be losing a lot of money, but I don't want to leave the story untold. So look for updates on that in the coming months.
04-25-04
As you can see, I almost made it. If only I didn't have work I probably would
have squeaked by with everything I expected to do. But, Part II of End of
Evil is complete, and 727 is now at 20% completion. Not bad for a day's work.
Perhaps next year I'll do the real commitment, and make a 24-page original
comic.
expected projects:
EJ423
727-8 pgs. 2, 3
EJ166-175
completed projects:
727-8 pg. 2
EJ423
EJ166-173
almost made it!
04-24-04
Today is 24 Hour Comic Book Day. At 6am, noon, 6pm, and midnight I will post
my progress on whatever I've chosen to work on at the top of this page. Why
not more updates? Cuz I'm WORKING ON STUFF! You crazy kids and your incessant
want of information...
04-15-04
This is the time of year when I'd throw the image of UR3's cover with the
word "TAXES" in a red bloody font up on this page, but I must have deleted
it since last year's tax day. Stupid, Jim, real stupid! On another note,
Evil Jim just got a bitchin' upgrade. For no reason other than I felt like
avoiding work on my class' screenplay, I spent the last three hours reorganizing
the main page using cascading style sheets and nested divs. Smart, Jim, real
smart! The results you can see for yourself by clicking the Evil Jim button
right up there on the top frame. Perhaps one day this entire site will get
an overhaul. Perhaps.
Expect an announcement about Free Comic Book Day soon.
04-11-04
Just a note to everyone: Yesterday I spent a good four hours dealing with
a tag-team of trojan viruses who either were made to install tons of adware
on my computer, or just piggybacked on said adware. While making EJ159,
everything slowed down for a good five minutes while AVG told me I had two
trojan viruses and to run AVG to get rid of 'em. Then all of a sudden I had
a MySearch bar above my taskbar...wtf. I run AVG and there are no viruses
detected. Also WTF. Fortunately, I wrote down where they had been detected,
which turned out to be adware files. So long story short, I think I finally
cleared everything off. But just in case I didn't, if this or the Evil Jim
site don't update for a loooong time...you know what happened to me and my
files.
Also, projected reports put Evil Jim's 200th and final strip at July 16, 2004, provided I only need to take one week off. This is two weeks earlier than my first projection a month ago, thanks to increased production this month. I hope you're happy.
04-06-04
Status updates and general housekeeping... 1) I am barely keeping up
with Evil Jim's schedule. 2) I would like to finish off 727 by September.
Page 1 of issue 8 is already complete. 3) I would like to increase production
of EJ to four strips per week. There is a special reason behind #3, which
is I want to give certain characters a good send-off before they graduate
in real life and I (possibly) never see them again. So... this is the decision
I'm being forced to make right now. Work on 727-8, or push forward with "End
of Evil." What do you think?
I know there hasn't been a significant design change in over a year. The truth is, I have no time, nor do I have the desire to overhaul a site that serves virtually no purpose. Reflection is finished. 727 is on extended hiatus. Evil Jim is the only real thing going right now. Yes, New Series 32 is in the planning stages, but right now it looks to be at least nine months to a year away from release. And yes, the message board is officially dead. So for now, I guess just stop by whenever you feel like. Check out Evil Jim. Otherwise, I'll be posting rants and updating the Progress Report whenever the need arises.
04-02-04
No, it isn't an April Fool's joke...I'm actually working on Seven to
Seven #8. Expect it on shelves this May. Also, I will be participating in
the first annual 24-Hour Comic Book Day, which will take place on April 24th.
That's all for now.
03-22-04
Could it be??? The Seven to Seven section is actually UPDATED WITH ALISON'S
BIO??? Stranger things have happened. What does this mean for the future
of the series, you ask? Umm...it still doesn't look good, unfortunately.
The script to issue 8 is trash, and with so many other things assauting my
creativity right now, it's very slow going. I'll keep you updated when there's
something to report.
03-18-04
New rant. Rather dramatic. Please read.
03-13-04
UNFAMILIAR REFLECTION #12 HAS BEEN RELEASED TO SPA CITY COMICS ON BROADWAY
IN SARATOGA SPRINGS.
While you're there, please buy Seven to Seven. I'm considering placing it
on near-permanent hiatus, but will reconsider if there is demand for it.
03-04-04
I am more than proud to announce Unfamiliar Reflection #12 is complete.
It will go on sale no later than Friday, March 12. Thank you all for your
unending patience. This has been a long, sometimes insanely difficult journey,
with its fair share of delays and alterations. But after thirty-eight long
months, we finally made it. Please enjoy this issue to the utmost. (Did I
mention it's 26 pages, not including extra material?)
02-09-04
A new rant about Star Trek: Enterprise is up, retracting many opinions
from the first one. The crossover is now on sale, enjoy! We apologize in
advance for any deception! Await part III!
The interior story for UR12 is DONE. Drawings, word balloons, everything. Right now I'm developing extra material for the remaining blank pages and a cover design is in progress. Expected completion is two weeks, and the release date is set in stone: The week of March 9th, 2004 will mark the end of the journey and a personal accomplishment to end all previous accomplishments.
01-16-04
Unfamiliar Reflection #12 may not be complete, but Part II of "Destiny's
Cross" is. If you recall, last March, Matt Williams and I collaborated on
a mini-series combining characters from his Shattered Genesis and
my Unfamiliar Reflection comics, with the Crimson Christian thrown
in for good measure. Well, we finally got the second issue done! Problem
is...this isn't the end of the story. We had to pull a Marvel and turned
this two-part story into a trilogy in the middle of production. So look for
Part II in the coming weeks at Spa City Comics in Saratoga Springs, but don't
hold your breath for Part III, coming possibly this summer. But with our
schedule these days, who the hell knows?
01-13-04
Remember how I said I wouldn't make any more promises? Well...here come some.
After much frustration, I have reluctantly pushed back Unfamiliar Reflection #12 to March 2004. This will allow me the proper time I need to complete the last few pages, with a perfect polished ending, as well as add some bonus material to unused pages. This should only take two or three weeks, but I won't have access to my printing equipment until I come home for Spring Break, which lasts from March 8-12. So look for it that week. This is a 100% guaruntee.
Seven to Seven will return with a solid monthly release, either March or April 2004. Issues 8-12 will complete the story and answer all your questions about what the hell is Barbara planning.
Evil Jim returns on February 2nd with one solid month of new strips following an...interesting...recap strip. The months of February and March will be housecleaning with some joke-of-the-day strips and week-long arcs that will rocket us into the four-month finale. Trust me, it's gonna be goooood.
The release page, accessable from the Progress Report, has returned to reflect the new schedule. Platinum Comics remains Platinum Comics through this summer, and hopefully by then I'll have found an original name.
01-01-04
Uh...Happy New Year. After further investigation, "Reverse Studios" is taken
by some freaks who like DBZ and make amateur games. Well, I suppose I'm not
much better at this point. So, the name search continues. As does work on
UR12. I'm afraid there still won't be any updates for some time. So Platinum
Comics we shall remain for the forseable future, as always and forever. Amen.
12-22-03
UR12 is coming along, although not nearly as fast as I'd like. Now I know
how Piro feels. Ugh. Life sucks if you have one. Sometimes I wish I was 12
again with only one friend and plenty of free time to do what I wanted to
do.
This is your last chance to read the rants and cruise the UR and 727 sections. They are being obliterated January 1st!
11-16-03
Substantial change to the UR and 727 sections. Detailed synopses have been
changed to broad overviews so that nothing is given away.
11-05-03
Press release now on-line. I suggest you read if you have any interest in
the Re<Verse comics or Evil Jim.
10-31-03
New non-Haloween related rant is up. This is the last rant. More details
on the future of ill-fated Platinum Comics next month. (No, this doesn't
mean I'm giving up comics!)
10-15-03
There's a site update! Holy cow! Check out a small new addition to the About
section.
Also, big big BIG news is coming in November. For now, though, here's an update on the current release status:
Unfamailiar Reflection #12 is coming along. Slowly but surely, it will be done. At this time it's uncertain whether it'll be done by Thanksgiving as I had hoped and promised, or if things will be pushed back to Christmas. I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE, BUT I MAKE A PROMISE ON MY LIFE THIS TIME...UR12 WILL BE DONE BEFORE 2003 ENDS.
Seven to Seven is on hiatus until UR is complete. Once it's back, there will be regular monthly updates. You betcha.
Evil Jim, until the completion of UR12, will be on a varying schedule. Right now I'm shooting for one strip every Monday and Friday until UR12 is done. More delays might occur. Post no bills.
2004 is going to be a transitional year. More on next year next month. Huh? Yeah.
I appreciate everyone's support, and hope you continue to stick with Platinum Comics as it works through difficult times.
10-04-03
In the wee hours of the morning, we got our one thousandth hit. Will the
winner please step forth and declare your prize! Tjats@aol.com #1,001,
2, and 3 don't despair! Take those screengrabs if #1,000 forfeits.
09-26-03
I know I said I was skeptical about doing another special reward for hit
#1,000, but it just seems like too good an opportunity to let slip by. Therefore,
we've got THE FINAL HIT CONTEST. The rules have changed a bit, so if you
participated before, you might want to brush up. Happy hitting.
09-13-03
727-7 is finished. The cover is on display in the 727 Issues section. Look
for the issue in a few weeks. I'm not sure when I'll ever get around to putting
up a description of UR10, so if you want to know what happens, I guess you
should just buy the issue.
09-11-03
Enterprise season three premiere rant is up. West Wing is next.
09-08-03
Descriptions of issues 4 and 5 of 727 are now available where all 727
descriptions are sold. If you're not buying the issues and just reading the
descriptions to find out what happens, you are missing many many important
details of the issue, as well as noteable eye-candy, fun references, and
important foreshadowing. Plus you don't even SEE anything. So buy them, please.
They're only $1. Online ordering procedures are still in development, but
if you live in Saratoga you can go right down to Spa City Comics in Broadway's
Downstreet Marketplace.
09-05-03
Finally added the 13th anniversary image to the Gallery. I also fixed the
links so that when you click on one the image opens in a new window. That's
so you don't get that distracting navigation frame at the top. People with
fickle popup blockers may have to disable them to view the images.
09-02-03
Okay, because it's so f***ing annoying, ONE MORE TIME! 900 HITS BABY! YES!
THIS PROVES I AM A SUCCESS! AW JEAH!
...I hate myself.
Seriously, I'm not sure if I'm up for another contest deal right now (still haven't given the winner of 750 his/her drawing yet!) so you'll have to stay tuned for that announcement.
08-28-03
I'm back! I moved back to college over the weekend, but virus problems caused
the campus internet system to go down so I've just become internet-capable.
The Evil Jim site was updated (sorta) while I had the chance to use a computer
lab during the week, but now all worries are behind us and you can expect
regular updates from here on in. First things first...Seven to Seven #7 is
coming in one month, and the Shattered Genesis/Unfamiliar Reflection crossover
is being produced by Evil Penguin Comics now, cuz I'm so busy. That should
be coming soon as well.
08-16-03
It took ages. But at long last, it's complete. Unfamiliar Reflection #11
is finished and now on sale! Check out the cover in the UR Issues subsection.
Also, about the UR and 727 pages...I've devoted all of my free time (ALL
OF IT) to UR11. In one week I return to college, so there are many more pressing
matters that need my attention. I'm afraid there won't be any additions to
the characters list or issue synopses for a while. Sorry about that.
08-04-03
13th Anniversary! Press release! Cool graphic! Check it out!
07-24-03
I went to New York City. Read all about it in the latest rant.
07-17-03
Geez...I've been so busy with a job, an internship, and UR11 I don't even
have time to write a rant explaining what's happneing in my life right now.
Sorry about the lack of updates, folks. Come September there'll be plenty,
I'm sure.
One important note: I have drastically altered the release schedule. Please don't hate me.
06-15-03
New rant in the Rant section. Also, very important news: UR11 is on track
for the end of July, however, in order to keep that deadline, 727-7 will
not be made until UR11 is finished. This means we're looking at an August
release for that book. My appologies.
06-13-03
Three things: WHOOOO! 800 HITS! Second, happy birthday to my cat Tiny, who
is eleven years old today. According to an on-line cat calculator, that makes
her 60 in cat years. While she's only been seen in two Evil Jim strips as
the genetically-altered size-shifting Evil Tiny, she will be making more
appearances in the future.
Third, there have been additions to the Platinum Comics Store. Check out Store II and the new UR10 cover design tees.
05-31-03
The cover to UR10 is now on display in the Reflection Issues section, and
the comic itself, along with 727-5 are now on sale at Spa City Comics in
Saratoga Springs. Hopefully I'll be able to finish UR11 on time...here's
hoping.
05-19-03
Well, I got off my lazy bum and updated the Seven to Seven Issues section.
The cover for 727-5 and the synopsis for 727-3 are now available. UR10 is
almost done and 727-5 is printed, so expect to see those at Spa City Comics
soon!
05-12-03
How y'all doin'? I'd just like to take a second to inform everyone of the
new release schedule. Taking into account the jobs I'm going to have over
the summer and certain projects that might occupy my time apart from drawing
comics, changes have been made to the schedule posted on the Progress Report
page. I've moved Unfamiliar Reflection #11 back to July and #12
back to October. I'm very sorry, and assure you that I'm just as disappointed
as you are about the delay. However, in order to ensure the best possible
quality of the final two issues of Unfamiliar Reflection, I need as much
time as possible to work on them. I assure you the date will be no later
than October 2003. I refuse to be one of those people who keep pushing their
books back due to extenuating circumstances. No matter what obstacles I have
to overcome, Reflection will end before you all go trick-or-treating this
holiday season. Please note that Evil Jim is taking a three-month hiatus
and has a 90% chance of returning for a second year in September. Seven
to Seven's monthly release remains unchanged, however is by no means
set in stone. Time will be sacrificed from 727 in order to get UR published
on schedule. Thank you for your time, and look forward to UR10 and 727-5
before the end of this month!
05-10-03
Well, now I feel like an idiot. The program I use to edit this website actually
opens the site in its own browser window, and as it turns out that causes
the hit counter to score a point. So I was hit #750. So that means...THE
VERY NEXT PERSON TO VISIT THIS SITE WINS! I assume you're reading this right
now, so congratulations and press the Print Screen button on your PC keyboard.
What's that? You use a MAC and your keyboard doesn't have such a key??? I'm
sorry to hear that. E-mail me anyway and I'll believe you.
Update: Congratulations to the winner! I'm working on your drawing as we speak.
04-27-03
Notice anything different around here? That's right, it's the Return of the
Frames. Taking advantage of the money I pay TopCities for removing all ad
banners, I finally did what I wanted to do a year ago: Make a good navigation
frame. Last year's was acceptable, but people with a smaller screen resolution
had to scroll, and I think top-bars are compositionally better than side-bars.
This modification also allows for faster load time because you don't have
to load all those buttons every time you go to a new page. Let me know what
you think of the new layout in the forum.
04-25-03
New Rant is up. Did anybody watch John Doe? Dude, that ending was
even more shocking than 24's first season finale!
04-24-03
Hey hey hey! When did we hit 700? I haven't checked the counter in a couple
days! Crap, I haven't missed a hundred marker before. Well, anyway, you know
what this means...that's right! Hit #750 here we come! The stakes are double
in this round of get-the-hit-and-win-a-drawing.
04-20-03
No, I'm not into the 4-20 thing. But my roommate is. Check out Evil Jim for
a special under-the-influence comic strip.
04-14-03
New picture in About section. It was taken this past weekend by my best friend
Brian Feulner, a professional photographer for ESPN2's SportsZone in Rochester.
Cool. I also proofread my gigantic huge life story. Man that was one hell
of a read. Did I actually write all that?
Also, I noticed I made a bit of a goof in the "dislikes" list. It says I don't like R&B music. Let me assure you that I have nothing against rythym & blues, and don't understand how I could have made the mistake of listing it. What I meant, and what I changed the listing to, is that I dislike pop and rap. My apologies to anyone I offended before the correction, as well as to any of you who I just offened by that last sentence.
04-08-03
MegaTokyo link fixed after six and a half months of being incorrect. You
people have to TELL me these things!
04-04-03
Well we whisked right by the first anniversary of this site without so much
as an update. Don't you find it odd that the 727 section was opened over
a year ago?
I reset the progress bars for Seven to Seven and the Genesis/Reflection crossover. Not that they're gonna get started any time soon...
04-01-03
You know, I've had a whole year to figure out something to do for April Fools'
Day on this website, but now that the time has come I'm too busy with my
schoolwork to even think about doing anything. Doesn't life suck?
03-24-03
Finally, another rant is up. I hope y'all watched the awards last night.
03-23-03
Wow, that was impressive. Yesterday the site maxed out its bandwidth
allowance. Crazy. What's wrong with you people? Huh? Well
it looks like TopCities does it on a day-to-day basis, not monthly, which
is a good thing. Otherwise this site would be down until April 1st.
If this problem persists I'm going to have to think about taking steps
to reduce bandwidth. I hope it doesn't come to that.
03-19-03
Fixed a couple things in the 727 section. Character pics and issue 4 cover
are now operating at 100% correctedness. And stuff. Also, I thought
I should bring to your attention Evil Jim's Guest Strip Sunday contest. Go
to the Evil Jim section to find out more.
03-12-03
The collaborative project between Matt Williams and myself is half over.
Go to Spa City Comics and pick up your very own copy of Shattered
Genesis/Unfamiliar Reflection #1: Destiny's Cross part I. And buy some
of Matt's comics while you're there or else you won't get most of the story.
UR9 and 727-3 are also out. Issue synopses will be available April
1, or whenever I feel that you've stopped buying the issue. If you just wait
for the story on-line, you won't get the full experience anyway, so you lose.
Bwahahahaha! Besides, it's only a buck. A BUCK! What do I have to do for
you people, make 10-Cent Adventures??? Wait a second...I might just have
something there...
03-02-03
Press release on-line detailing the state of Platinum Comics as it reaches
the halfway point in Year 13. We've still got plenty of surprises before
August, so read up. Seven to Seven section updated with synopsis of
issue 2 and the remaining character bios.
02-24-03
Added a new page to the site that lists the release months for every Platinum
Comics production from now until August. Yes, I plan that far ahead. Everything
beyond March is tentative, so don't take my word for it. As always, you can
check the progress of each issue in the Progress Report. I'll probably release
a statement by the end of the month detailing 2003's developments, so stay
tuned.
02-13-03
Let's hear it for hit #500! Congratulations to the winner. Keep racking up
them hits and we might get to the next contest sooner than you think.
02-10-03
Stupid short rant is up. Blah.
02-04-03
The second half has begun! Year One of Evil Jim continues with an almost
unbroken string of MWF strips from now until the end of May. "Why, Jim, when
you started you weren't sure you wanted to continue Evil Jim indefinitely.
Does this mean there's going to be a Year Two?" Well, yes. Evil Jim is going
to go in seasons because I have jobs during the summer that appear to take
up even more free time than college does. So the plan is to have each "season"
start in September, break for January, and continue through May. That's eight
months a year, folks. I know the pros can do it 24/7/365 but I've got other
projects, namely the old chestnut about a girl who transforms into someone
she's not and inherits the ability to save or destroy the planet. Remember
that one? Anyway, thanks a million for sticking with me. Year 13 continues.
Oh yeah, hit #500 is coming, and that means it's time for Hit Contest 2 of 4.
01-31-03
Added three images to the art gallery. One page of raw Evil Jim art, Shiro's
hand, and that psycho picture of Emri seen above. I was drawing page 11 of
UR9 today and just had to share that image with you guys.
01-27-03
400 hits today. Keep rackin' 'em up, guys! It's the only thing I have to
live for. Emri marks the event in style in a rare color pic.
01-26-03
Genericon was a lot of fun, especially the webcomic pannel. (I met Josh Phillips
and Ian J! EEEEEEEE!) Check out everybody's sites, they're loads of fun.

Oh yeah, and work has resumed on Unfamiliar Reflection #9. Release is locked for the week of March 10th. Also coming that week is a special project I'm working on with Matt "Crimson Christian" Williams...more on that later.
01-22-03
Okay, I've been experiencing some weird problems with TopCities this
week...hopefully everything's back to normal. I added the UR8 issue synopsis
(finally) to the Unfamiliar Reflection section. Also, you can use the new
Evil Jim banner above to advertise my site! Just don't forget to include
a link to http://pcomics.topcities.com/eviljim or I'll kill all y'all.

Well, here I am back at college. Before I left Saratoga I gave a few copies
of Seven to Seven #1 to Spa City Comics in Broadway's Downstreet Marketplace,
so go get 'em! Look for issue 2 next month. (GASP! IT'S MONTHLY???) I hope
to resume work on UR9 very soon.
01-12-03
I'm sorry everybody, but with the way things are working out here in my last
week of winter vacation I think it would be wisest that I concentrate on
my real life for a change. There is no way UR9 can be finished by the end
of the week unless I lock my door and hibernate for five days straight, and
that's not something I think is healthy. A lot of things have happened around
here in the last week which delayed work on the issue, and now I'm so far
behind there's no making up for lost time. I'm deeply sorry that I haven't
been able to keep a steady bimonthly schedule for a measely 5 months, but
rest assured this will in no way push back the conclusion of Reflection beyond
this summer. There IS an end, and we ARE gonna reach it before the 13th
anniversary.
Unfamailiar Reflection #9 is now on target for March 2003, #10 is on for early May and #11 might be as early as June in order for an August release for the final issue, which might just be double-sized.
Thanks everybody for sticking with us. Later.

Next rant is up. I fixed the error in the Nemesis rant; Tom Hardy
played Shinzon and Ron Perlman played his Viceroy. And if you're wondering
about the picture above, it's all I could think about when I was editing
a page of an upcoming comic done by Matt Williams. More on that in the next
few weeks.
01-06-03
I added a message board to the site for no particular reason...but use it
anyway! You can ask me or other people questions and get to know the crew
from Evil Jim. You do have to sign up tho, but it's relatively simple and
totally free. Try it out. Your opinion matters to us very much big time.
01-02-03
What a date. No substantial updates today, just a little news. From now on,
any bit of news won't be posted in the Welcome space above. It'll show up
here in the Updates section. This just makes it easier for you to lookup
information and for me to store everything I type in the History section.
So...what's new?
The bar at the top of every main page on the site replaces the left button frame. I changed this to make the site look more like the comic covers, and also to make the layout compatible with smaller screen resolutions. The Next Generation section is gone. Stop trying to look for it.
The long-anticipated Art Gallery is now up. Not too much on it now, but I'll be making more additions every now and then, so stay tuned.
Also, NO MORE BANNERS! W00T! But that means I'm actually paying for this web space. (Donations, anyone?) By buying my comics, you are putting money directly into this website. Isn't that interesting?
There are now hidden pages on this site. Ooh, the mystery! Where to look? I wonder...
The Evil Jim website has also gotten a facelift (A much better one than this website, that's for sure.) The strip will go into reruns begining next week to allow me more time to work on Unfamiliar Reflection #9, which is so far one page into production.
Seven to Seven comes out this month. So that means the on-line version of the issue is gonna be disappearing any day now.
So, this basically means that with this minimal revamp, the website has actually gotten smaller. Oh, well. That's progress, I guess. Thanks for visiting and have a happy 2003!
01-01-03
Welcome to Platinum Comics 2.0! As part of our thirteenth year, the website
has gotten a little facelift in the navigation department. No clunky frames,
and every page has a banner that will take you wherever you want to go on
the site. So happy browsing!
Art gallery section is finally unveiled. Not much yet, but expect lots more in the months to come. Star Trek Nemesis rant is now up. GO SEE IT! THE MOVIE NOT THE RANT!
12-25-02
Mmm...twelve months till Christmas... The site is gonna get a tune-up
real soon. One week to be presice. Hmm...I wonder if it's any coincidence
that New Years Day is in one week? Oh, and the holiday art never existed.
Sorry, I've been busy.
12-19-02
Woohoo! Finals are over and I'm home for the holidays! It just came to my
attention that the Unfamiliar Reflection #8 cover wasn't posted in the UR
Issues section. That is now fixed. Thank you.
12-17-02
I don't know if it was today or yesterday, but the website just hit 300.
Go, team! and stuff. Some holiday art may be posted before Christmas, we'll
see.
11-12-02
Let's hear it for hit #250! Congratulations to the winner. You know who you
are. For everybody else, just wait 'till hit 500 when we do this thing all
over again.
11-10-02
John Doe rant is up. I missed last week's episode! Bwaaaaah!!!
11-03-02
Announced the Hit Counter Incrememt Award. This site received its 200th hit
(accidentally by my own browser) today.
11-01-02
Surprise, surprise. The UR Characters section has actually received an update.
Plus, the UR7 synopsis and cover art are now on display in the Issues section.
Short paragraphs about Souzoku and Kouen's sensei took ten minutes
to write. Their chraracter drawings took one hour to make. Whew.
10-25-02
Mmm...two months till Christmas. The summary of Unfamiliar Reflection #7
is now up. And stuff. The Character page will be updated soon.
Evil Jim will be taking a break next week. One strip will be uploaded on Wednesday or Thursday.
10-22-02
My first and only DBZ rant ever is now up. Read it, I COMMAND YOU!
10-21-02
The 727 section is now officially re-opened, complete with the first issue!
Originally scheduled to be released this month, the new publication date
is Christmas. This here's a teaser to keep you primed for it.
10-13-02
This will be the last update until 727's release on October 21. I'll be going
home between the 16th and 20th for Fall Break, so that means I won't have
access to my computer. Evil Jim and the Progress Report will be updated until
Wednesday.
10-08-02
Not really a substantial update, but I changed the picture in the About section.
It's me with my Spike Speigel poseable model. Bebop rules.
10-07-02
Evil Jim section now on-line. Partake in the semi-psuedo-evilness. Sorta.
09-26-02
A look at things to come: Evil Jim preview poster is uploaded to the
newly-created Evil Jim section. Check back soon for more details on what
used to be known only as New Series 33.
Another rant is added. Yes, already. I simply couldn't contain my amazement at The West Wing's premiere.
09-24-02
A quick rant is added. Read and understand.
09-23-02
W00T! 100 hits! Go team! Yeah!
...I am so pathetic.
Links are now available right below the Updates section on the main page. Which would be right below this text right here. Yup.
09-20-02
Posted two press releasaes. Very, very important press releases.
09-12-02
The next rant is uploaded. I'm back to show reviews for the next couple months,
seeing as how my regular rants are boring beyond belief. First up is Mobile
Fighter G Gundam.
09-01-02
Added issue 68 of Next Generation to the Next Generation section.
Also uploaded the teaser to the final six issues of Unfamiliar Reflection.
It's now on the front page of the Reflection section.
08-29-02
Uploaded next rant.
08-04-02
The next rant has been posted. This time it's about a special surprize prize
waiting for you along with UR2K2.
08-01-02
Well, August is finally here...and that means it's time for the long-awaited
2K2 project! The site logo has been changed! Yes! That's all that happened!
07-13-02
The next rant is up, up and away! ...ouch my mouth hurts...
06-25-02
To mark the mediocre milestone of 50 hits to the website, I've created an
STTNG section with a special feature of issue 67. Go check it out!
06-22-02
The UR6 synopsis is now available. I was nice and made sure that you all
had plenty of time to buy the issue before I spoiled anything. :-)
06-16-02
The next rant is up.
06-09-02
I fixed the UR2 synopsis. Apparently I don't know how to spell "rurouni."
05-25-02
I enabled the scroll bar on the Button frame to the left. I don't like it
because it's so ugly, but most people have an 800x600 screen resolution and
couldn't scroll down to see all the buttons.
The 24 rant is now up. Read all about Fox's breakout hit in my semi-review.
05-22-02
The Seven to Seven section is now closed. All material has been taken off
this site until the official release of the series this fall. More on this
breaking story once somebody actually visits this site.
05-07-02
I removed the fake UR6 synopsis. The real one is coming after the release
of the issue.
05-01-02
Added the Rants section and re-tooled the button bar. Also started my hit
counter. You know what that means...visit this site once a day, every day
so I get them numbers up!
04-27-02
Added the 2K2 section. Go! Learn! Become a better-educated person!
04-26-02
Seeing as how the updates list here is piling up, I've resorted to moving
all updates over a month old into the newly-created History section. Check
'em out by following the link below the Update section, or the link below
the buttons to the left.
04-20-02
No, I'm not into the 4-20 thing. I added an About Me section, with a little
(well, a lot) info on me and the comics I so lovingly create. I also added
the FULL SYNOPSIS of UR6. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO READ IT NOW. I promise
it won't spoil anything.
04-17-02
Posted the cover art for the sixth issue. It's up in the UR Issues section.
04-16-02
Unfamiliar Reflection #6 is finished! One month from now, expect to
see it at Spa City Comics in Saratoga Springs!
04-11-02
Added descriptions of the minor characters (wait, let's be PC about
this--Supporting Characters) in Unfamiliar Reflection. Check them out in
the Cast section.
04-10-02
Moved entire site to Topcities.com after AOHELL gives me the shaft. At least
I can still use AOLPress...
04-4-02
The Progress Report section is now on-line! Check out exactly how long it's
gonna be until you get to see the next issue of your favorite series!
03-25-02
Mmm...nine months til Christmas... Oh, and the Seven to Seven section
is now up.
03-21-02
Site creation. Only the main page is viewable.
